MSP Waves - The Voice of Steemit
It seems like ages to me since I last posted. Steemit has become part of my life. The thing is - it made me feel uneasy not having posted this week - as if I missed work...
...Even though I have been busy.
(Makes note to self - regardless what else happens, always keep up the posting, the writing, the value-add.)
THERE is a good reason for my 'slacker' week.
I have been bizzy. Dizzily busy with a new venture on Steemit. And I have been techie busy setting up a Internet broadcast capability in my lair.
DJ and globo - the newest DJ's
MSPWaves radio. Yes, DJ DisarrangedJane and I are going to have a blast, blasting the MSP Airwaves with their brand-new Friday evening CHAOS Show. Check out her super post MSPWaves - Riding The Minnow Ocean - out earlier today!
On top of that, daring globo signed up for two more MSPWaves time slots:
Frequency Waves - 432 Hz Music
Saturday afternoon - relaxing tunes in 432Hz - The show is called Frequency Waves. All music played during this show is at 432Hz - Hear the difference to 440. Soft, mellow, with crisper sound definition. Perhaps discover even notes in your favorite song you have never heard before?
We will also talk about frequencies, what it all means, how they can affect our lives, how they can benefit and how they could harm us.
God Waves
On Sunday, it's God Waves time. Literally, God waves. On this show we will explore God's word, featuring Christian music, field prayer requests, and encourage other Steemians through the word of God. An uplifting show dedicated to God.
Broadcast Setup
As for my setup: Watch for my post on Monday via @msp-waves. I shall craft it after the first shows are under my belt. The post will detail my setup and the experience I have had on the air with my mini studio.
That post shall kick off a new Steemit series: Broadcaster Insights. A peak behind the scenes of MSPWaves. 📻
The challenge in this particular case was this:
My co-host and partner in crime DJ @disarrangedjane is in a different physical location.
To allow Jane, or any co-host or interviewee to not only hear my voice but also music, sound bits and bytes, etc as if she was here with me in the studio, I needed a setup that would accommodate that. No fun for DJ to hosting a show and not hearing the broadcast in real time.

Now, let's pay the bills. Running a station is not free. Server fees, software, bandwidth must be taken care of. Playing music is not free. A licensing fee is payable upfront - and the station also pays for songs DJs air that are not included in the license database. @SirCork is doing incredible work on that end, and every DJ should make sure their music selections are covered by the licensing agreement to avoid additional fees. Jane and I will be reporting every song played on our show to @SirCork.
