Hi folks!
With this content I would like to show you, how my MS looks and ways to identify MS or autoimmune diseases. Read and enjoy (=
How does a multiple sclerosis looks like?
It is not easy to identify a multiple sclerosis. Probably the most people who suffer from this disease run a trial and error game for years until that get their shattering message.
Just with a haemogram (blood picture) you will have trouble to identify this disease exact. The best way is probably a magnetic resonance tomograph MRT.
But within the blood picture there are a few parameters you can use as evidence.
Which paramenters of a blood picture are useful?
The two most important indicators are the value of the leukocytes and the C - reactive protein.
How to take the value of the leukocytes?
The leukocytes are the white blood cells. They arise in the thymus gland and marrow. (This is important to know because of several ways to heal)
The function of these cells is the regulation of the immune system. The may defend against pathogens like influenza or tumor cells.
If the value is too low, it may a sign of autoimmune diseases, viral infections, bone marrow diseases or cancer.
If the value is too high, it may a sign of infectious diseases or leukemia. Even stress, pregnancy, smoking, physical exertion or certain medications (e.g. cortisone) can also lead to an increased number of leukocytes. (This is, why MS "Warriors" often get cortisone [probably wrongly, or at least not completely elaborated)
I attached my personal blood picture from July last year. Check out my value of leukocytes (in German Leukozyten). At this time I had a typical value that could be used as an indicator for an autoimmune disease.
How to take the value of the C - reactive protein?
The C - reactive protein is the most important blood laboratory value for determining and monitoring the course of inflammation in the body. CRP values that are too high can indicate acute bacterial infections or chronic inflammation (e.g. Crohn's disease, rheumatic diseases). The important point is, that MS "Warriors" often complain about inflammatory symptoms. However, normally you do not find any increased values of this marker in MS. Thus, if you complain to inflammatory symptoms but your C - reactive protein value is normal, you should check your nervous system.
How to see the MS on a MRT?
The MRT is the best way to identify a MS. White spots in your brain picture are mostly MS verifications. Normally these are cicatrizations as a consequence of an inflammatory event. Check out the my MRT from July 2022.
An expert can interpret the picture if there are acute inflammatory spots. He also should be able to check, if the blood-brain barrier is intact. Normally the brain is the best protected organ of the human body. Whit a MS, the immune system penetrates the blood-brain barrier. Misguided immune cells overwhelm the nerve tissue and damage the brain and spinal cord. Researchers have not yet fully clarified how exactly the immune cells manage to cross the blood-brain barrier. This is the problem why "modern" drugs like Copaxone are not helping long term, even if these medics do not the reason of the problem. Thus it is just a bad emergency solution.
