In high school I was a huge From First to Last fan, but after Sonny Moore(Skrillex) left the band for EDM, they didn’t release anything that cool. I actually opened up for FFTL once and got to hang out with Sonny and the rest of the band for the evening. It’s one of my fondest memories. Well today they got the old band together and released a track for free!
It’s ok I guess, but I was hoping it would be heavier, and more industrial sounding like their masterpiece album Heroin. I love that album. They incorporated industrial sounds, and guitar tones that made something truly unique. Back then Sonny had some pipes on him to. He was only 15 when he joined the band, and I think he was 17 when they recorded Heroin. He’s an amazing talent. He went on to bring dubstep to the mainstream and produced some great tracks in that genre as well. Who else could say they became the biggest name in two separate genres before they could legally drink?
