This time I would like to make you familiar with one of the best Ukrainian musicians, the band called Onuka (or "Granddaughter" in translation from Ukrainian). They are popular in Ukraine for the very creative use of folklore instruments in electronic music. Also what personally attracts that they are just so much more than a band but try to convey some important messages, for example, to encourage people to try to be not indifferent to ecological problems.
The lead singer Nata Zhyzhchenko in her recent interview (for Ukrainian rubryka.com) told about launching an ecological initiative "ECOSTRUM" in support of urban sorting stations "Ukraine without garbage" and they made music video for the song "Strum" in a landfield near Kyiv to support the initiative where she walks the fields of not gold...plastic garbage. She was amazed how positively local and foreign people responded to their project as unfortunately, Ukraine doesn't really have garbage sorting and this issue should be really pushed.
Once after visiting the North Pole on a scientific expedition to an icebreaker Nata Zhyzhchenko told that she was shocked to see in the ice waters of Spitsbergen a plastic bottle of the Ukrainian brand along with other garbage. It was obvious no one throw it there so the bottle came all the long way here.
But how could it be surprising when one just could read on the web-site of one of the Ukrainian water bottling brand: "Our total design capacity is more than a billion bottles a year. If you put this product in a row, it will double the globe twice! The line's power reaches 40,000 bottles per hour, or 11 bottles per second" (translated from the site http://biola.ua/ru/press/ekskursiya-v-buduschee/?fbclid=IwAR1H1vaEfHftl6imFl3MIh4vqZ8-zSH2oODI4nVYsh67XHlCEemvsqn_f-Q). Not sure is it something to be proud of but do hope the companies will try to produce more bottles in glass, not plastic at least...
