I've been feeling a little frustrated for most of this week due to a spell of forced inactivity that meant I was limited in what I could do physically - I'm good to go now though after being given the all-clear to get back on it making me feel better, energised and happy.
My mood dictates what music I listen to, and vice versa I guess, and so it wasn't much of a surprise to see that my most played track was a Five Finger Death Punch track...My second, third and fourth most played also; FFDP is virtually all I've played this week; It just felt appropriate.
I've hiked a couple times since getting the all-clear to do so but today I took a walk at the beach to find some space, fresh air and to try and cast off the residual grumpiness frustrations I've felt which was nice; Lapping waves, sea birds calling, no one near, just step after step. I left my phone home today so had no music, but thought to share what I've been listening to all week, the most played track, as I have done over the last couple weeks as well. So, there it is below.
My most played track of the week

This track is a cool remake based on a classic song called House of the rising sun originally recorded in 1964 by Eric Burdon and The Animals. I like the FFDP version though and the video is partly why - It's just kind of cool.
The actual song starts at around 1:18 of the video with the first minute or so being a sort of prelude, a night before sequence setting up the bad-ass nature of the FFDP crew. It shows a group of people partying pretty hard, FFDP-style, and introduces the band members and the post-apocalyptic world. They awake the next morning and the story continues...Along with the actual song. It's cool, but you can take a look if you like and judge for yourself.
I really dig the post-apocalyptic Mad Max world it's set in, the steampunk visuals and I love me a rat-rod so the cars tick some boxes too. It has a dark nature to it, is a little bit gangster and ends as one might expect - Bad things happen to bad people sometimes. The music puts a little backbone into the original ballad-type song and that's punctuated by the video.
In case you're interested, you can hear and see the original 1964 version here. You'll note a distinct difference in vocal, drums, base and guitar...Everything really. Even a few of the words have been changed.
All in all the Five Finger Death Punch version is a worthy most-played track for this week I think but...It had company.
As always I'll reveal the second most played track although this week it was equal first as it played the same amount of times as the previous track. There's no video to this one but it's a cool track, if one is in the right mood. No sudden movements.
So, I'm not sure if there's anyone out there reading this but if so, and you want to share what you've been listening to, then please go ahead and let me know in the comments.
