This is something from last night

that sort of feels like two different ideas, not really cohesive yet, but it could be cool. I had started with 3 Simpler instruments, each with a different sample. The first, Track 4, wound up having some pitch shifting and made for a weird little background element. Track 6 is a drone, which just holds a Bb in the background, though since I bounced it to audio, I was able to get those little glitchy bits, pitching up and speeding up and random points. Track 9 actually was a later addition, recorded from the drums in Track 8 with a Spectral Resonator (on the granular setting) turned fully wet, just a bit of a weird thing over the droney intro. Once I added an actual beat in Track 8, I felt the droney, ambient weirdness didn't fit, so I dropped most of that and tried some other stuff. Tracks 10-14 are used only in the second half of the song, and are an entirely different vibe. I tried to have them sort of staggered, with Track 10 (the piano) adding a sort of Lydian sound, and everything else just droning in the background. I wanted it to feel a bit weird, but still 'happy-ish'. I think its not there yet, parts I like but some bits feel too random, and like they don't fit, so I'm gonna keep messing around, see if I can't find a way to make it sound more cohesive.
