You all made this contest work. I never expected to get too many entries but hoped enough just to find a good song and get people ready and motivated to do phase II, a collaborative song/ video that steemians from all over the world and of all skill sets can participate in. This contest was never about performance , production or sound quality. It was about song choice. To choose a song that would work for a collaboration project and could serve to promote Steemit in a positive way. A Steemit theme song. I think every entry achieved that.
A big special thanks to the #Ecotrain who have supported me and inspired me to be a better steemian and a better person, even while I dropped off the planet for a few weeks only surfacing to keep my Steemit blog going! Truth is ( cue sad violins) I was laid up with a bad back and getting through work was about all I could do. But i'm all better now. ( violins fade)
Also to @luzcypher, @pfunk and all of the #openmic crew who were supportive throughout the contest. It meant a lot to me.
I was so nice to see new entries today. It really brings me great joy. I cant wait to collaborate with whomever is game to be apart of the project! Music is universal. It is the perfect medium to express what Steemit is about.

@ecoinstant brought it with this great entry. I have always loved this song. And he did a great job making it into a wonderful Steemit song reworking the lyrics from obla di obla da! Working title is 'Steem-la-di, Steem-la-da' Judges are going to have a some hard choices to make.
@bubke made his debut with the "Bub and the Goa Boys doing their original "We like to Steemit" I love this one also. Another fantastic job with lyrics and love the feel of a reggae song. And the wonderful energy Bub and the Goa Boys brought made this really wonderful and fun! A serious contender I think.

The @steembirds brought on the completion early with a bang! And two wonderful songs. The first "Trending on steemit" I cant get this song out of my head! Its a great song and a wonderful fun performance. I look forward to collaborating with the @steembirds!
