One of the leading digital asset trading platforms, Huobi joined other leading investment firms like VeChain, Quarkchain, Fenbushi and NodeCapital to invest in MXC. Not just because it won the Huobi Next Competition in record time, but because it saw the potential in its technologies and in all the ways it could affect how we live in future.
We've all heard of Amazon echo or Google Home, products that will connect everything around your home from your windows, to your thermostats, to your lights, to your entertainment systems. However when Samsung introduced its line of smart washing machines, is really when the possibility of achieving a completely connected smart home actually seemed like it could become a reality. A washing machine that lets you monitor your items as they are being washed, monitor cycle selection and that can basically be remotely controlled from anywhere using an app from your smartphone.
According to a recent study conducted by the Intel Corporation, 68% of all respondents believed smart homes have the potential to be as smartphones by the year 2030.
Unfortunately most connected devices depend on Bluetooth technologies and WiFi to exchange information with each other. The technologies are great until you realize how much limitations they possess. For example WiFi signals can't get past 100 meters which is very unreliable considering the number of M2M transactions that are happening today. By utilizing the MXProtocol there is a seamless transition between networks. This is possible because it makes sure the devices connect to the internet through an available LPWAN gateway.
The MXProtocol will also prevent data collision, see it's like this, let's say you're in a room full of people, the people representing the amount of data that's passed around the system. Now if you'd like to ask your friend to leave the best way to do it would be to probably lean in and talk to them, this method works perfectly (this is how bluetooth and WiFi works. But what if your friend was across the room? How can you signal him? Now if your like me you'd probably shout at the top of your voice, to try get his attention.
The same way you put in all that energy is the same way machines do to pass information over greater distances. The next option if you're not into shouting would probably be to walk right up to him, so as to reduce the distance. MXC's LPWAN is offering a third option, instead of shouting or walking all the way there, LPWAN's option is the equivalent of pointing to the door. Here you can pass information over a great distance without wasting any energy.
The only issue with this method is that there's only so many gestures you can make and also because there's a crowd around you the possibilities your message will get miscontrued or ignored are huge.
Because LPWANS only send and receive tiny packets they can send data over long distances and use very little energy. MXC's devices boast of a service time of up to 5 years.
Okay i got off topic a little there... But let's get back to Smart Homes.
When you're inside your home, you don't want a device from your neighborhood to mess up a message that's coming to you from your devices just because they both use the same channel. For example, if someone pauses their Spotify playlist, you wouldn't want this message to collide with a message from your security system that's involving you of a potential robbery. MXProtocol is unique because it allows for coordination of the networks. Meaning more urgent tasks get a higher priority than the others.
MXProtocol also allows users to pay small payments to lease out resources within the platform. It does this thanks to the Machine eXchange Coin, a token that incorporates everything that a sharing economy stands for, allowing big corporations, middle-sized businesses and individuals to lease assets from someone else. The wallets are all kept safe inside the cloud and individuals can make a profit everytime businesses transfer date through their LPWAN. The coins are then sent to the owners of the sensors. This process is handled by a series of 'smart' smart contracts. Which are now certik certified, meaning certik, through a formal verification framework has proved that MXC's smart contracts are bug-free and resistant to hacks.
