Community support has been very overwhelming.
It has only been 10 days since the account was created but we already got 30+ resteems and 200+ human upvotes. We've also received over 20 STEEM in donations and $70+ worth of monthly pledges. These are just partial and unofficial numbers, and it keeps growing by the day.
On behalf of our first student, Myke, and all the future students that will be supported through this project, we offer our sincerest thanks 💖
Everything happened so fast that we're finding it hard to keep up 😅 But that's the most wonderful problem to have at this point. I published this post as a mini-update but we'll prepare a more detailed post in the next coming days after comprehensive discussion and planning. Our next post will highlight:
- Funding received thus far, including a list of people who offered monthly pledges.
- Recalibration and expansion of the project goals since the original target will soon be exceeded.
Part of @scholarph's support program is to provide monthly stipends to each student. The estimated annual total of $220 presented in our project details post will be divided to 10 or 11 months which will be awarded to the student at each month's first week.
We are happy to announce that we've reached our very first milestone.
Our initial target was to reach $20 of funds at the least so we can provide a month's allowance to our first scholar, Myke. We were anticipating a minimum of three weeks worth of posting to reach that goal but we achieved it in a few days!
Myke has received his first of many monthly allowances today.
He now has enough money to buy his chef's attire required for practicum.

You guys are really awesome for making this happen. We've seen several Steemians promoting the project on their own and spreading the word. Then, we'll be surprised by the number of people reaching out to us and asking about the project. I don't like to make a habit of mentioning people, especially since I'm bound to miss some genuinely nice people who supported us in one way or another. But I'll make an exception this time.
