it has been a while since i delved my hands into the world of blogging. my friends (special mention to @wittyzell and @appleeatingapple and @ohlnwwlknat) have been constantly inviting to join the platform but i have always feared the first blog, the introductory post. how do i even start? that is really the question.
i browsed the first entry of my old personal blog for some hope of inspiration, reference, or just some guidance perhaps on what my style of writing was. september-8th-of-2006 me was a complete mess, but at least i got to recycle this title. so allow me to start.
in the beginning
...there was light. charaught! everything started in a humble abode on this beautiful tropical paradise of cebu in the philippines. as a single child living in the city on this tropical island, it was a bit necessary to have some street smart skills. i conversed with adults more and was early on exposed of how challenging life can be. as such, it was quite difficult making friends with children my age. this little boy was quite awkward socially but one thing was for sure; he believed that "knowledge is power!". as the late ernie baron would say, "kung walang knowledge, walang power!" (translates literally as: without knowledge, there is no power); i always knew that it is only in academics where everyone is somewhat on the same footing. i managed to excel in school yet enjoyed the process while doing so. yes, i am a nerd and am proud to be one!
the midlife dilemma
...or was it really? but wasn't it not? i am as confused as you are in the next portion of my life. this self proclaimed introvert entered the work force as a software engineer (quite typical for socially awkward beings). i was finally clinically (or rather haphazardly) diagnosed as colorblind, which answered all the color related blunders i have committed since preschool days. i learned how cruel people in the industry can be. i was then later assigned to work in japan where i have stayed till present. here i have learned to be independent (when required), to manage my budget (online shopping is the bane of my wallet's existence), to cook food (extra grocery points on weekends), clean the toilet (which i detest). japan has also opened my eyes to the beauty of nature and serenity, to the dangers of alcohol and lust, to the power of love and extremity of loneliness, to the importance of health and money, and to the happiness achieved after finally accepting your flaws and being unapologetic of them.
so what can you expect in this blog?
itz.inno for it's innocent. i don't think it will be that innocent though.
allow me to share some thoughts regarding everything and anything under the sun: from food to travels, to fitness journeys, to anime, dramas and movies, to songs, to mobile gaming, to simple joys and random soliloquys. i would like to take you with me as we gain wisdom, laugh at our stumbles, and explore this world through these colorblind eyes of mine a step at a time.
so how is this for an introductory blog?
not bad i guess for a 4-hour-to-write-in-the-wee-hours of the night.
september-8th-of-2006 me was a complete mess, the me of today is a messy writer still. well i guess this is my writing style; or in tagalog, MAKALAT!
and this is my introduction.
have a nice day!
