My name is Wietzell but since my name is so complicated (in spelling and pronunciation), you can call me by my nickname Witz. Some people prefer Witzu because this is how japanese read my nickname - ウィッツ. Whichever you prefer - Witz or Witzu, no problem!
If you have other nicknames for me, please leave a comment below and I'll try to consider it. ;)
Who is Witz?
Born and raised in the Philippines, I am friendly, open-minded and optimistic, just like most Filipinos.
I understand and speak different languages and dialects - English, Japanese, Filipino, Cebuano, and Ilonggo.
As to why I can speak Cebuano, it's because I'm from the Queen City of the South in the Philippines - Cebu. Cebu is where you will find the pristine beaches and even when I lived there, I don't know how to swim (I can only float!). Please visit Cebu and let me know!
You might be wondering what is Ilonggo. Well, Ilonggo or Hiligaynon is the dialect used in Western Visayas (Negros Occidental and Panay islands). I was raised by my grandparents in a little town in Sipalay City and eventually, my grandparents moved to Bacolod City when they retired. Sipalay and Bacolod are located in Negros Occidental and part of Western Visayas.
10 years ago, I couldn't picture myself working in Japan because of its reputation having to work overtime everyday, which means, I wouldn't have time for myself and for the things I am passionate about. But here I am, living and working in Japan for more than 4 years now. I guess I am one of the few lucky people who don't get to do overtime everyday, and I'm surrounded with people who can speak English so I can communicate with no problems. Well, it's also better to practice Japanese (I'm not yet in the native speaker level, just average) so sometimes I learn and try to speak the language.
And while I love my home country, I am not really thinking of going back yet anytime soon. My family has been so supportive of me being away from home and I couldn't thank them enough for the trust they gave me.
Why Am I Here?
I am curious (and a bit hooked) about this platform. @danaperez introduced me to this (thank you Dana!) and I think this is a great way to connect to other people with the same interests, not to mention learn new things from them! I love writing and reading blogs (even more than watching videos on YT).
What Are My Interests?
Fashion
I am for fashion I can afford. I love clothes and dressing up. It makes me feel good! But I don't want to spend a fortune on luxury items and rack up debts. Being confident is my best outfit!
Travel
Traveling around the world has been my dream ever since. I travel a lot back then in the Philippines and now, in Japan. I will definitely share my experiences (maybe give few tips too!) and the things I learn while traveling.
Food
I am on the hunt for the greatest flavors of Japan and the world. You can search my posts on IG with #wittyflavors. I love eating (not cooking - but I know how to cook), and I believe good food must be shared. So I'll share my thoughts with you.
Gaming
I am not a professional gamer but I play sometimes, especially when I am bored. No, I'm not that chic who plays so well. I am just your average girl who knows how to play and sometimes just borrows the boyfriend's account to play. Lately I've been "borrowing" his Elden Ring character to play the game (I mean, it's so tiring to level up so it's a joint account hehe).

Of course, this page is not only limited to the interests I posted above but also to my daily life in Japan (please check out #wittydaily on IG), my aspirations in photography, the anime (yes, I'm an otaku) and TV shows I watch, and many more.
