A few years ago, I had the opportunity to visit one of the most iconic cities in the world, a place where history and culture seem to emerge from every corner. Greece, a land steeped in myths, legends and historical facts that have marked the course of humanity. My journey began in Athens, the cradle of Western civilization, but it was on the island of Mykonos that my love affair with Greece truly blossomed.
Athens is a vibrant and chaotic city, where the majesty of the Acropolis stands as a constant reminder of the glorious Greek past. Walking through the narrow streets of Plaka, I felt as if time had stood still. Every stone, every corner, seemed to whisper stories of philosophers, gods and heroes. I visited the Parthenon, a symbol of architectural perfection that has withstood the test of time, and I couldn't help but marvel at the grandeur of the ancient Greeks.
However, it was in Mykonos that I discovered a different side of Greece, one that was more intimate and personal. After a few days exploring Athens, I took a ferry to the Cyclades islands. The trip itself was a magical experience, with the Aegean Sea stretching as far as the eye could see, dotted with small islands and picturesque white villages.
Arriving in Mykonos, I found myself in a paradise of golden beaches and crystal clear waters, with a landscape that looked like something out of a postcard. The island is known for its vibrant nights and nightlife, but it also has a calm and serene side that captured my heart. Strolling through the cobblestone streets of Mykonos Town, with its whitewashed houses and balconies adorned with bougainvillea, I felt like I was in a dream.
One afternoon, I decided to visit Elia beach, one of the most beautiful on the island. Upon arrival, I found an idyllic setting: turquoise waters caressing the shore and a gentle sea breeze cooling the atmosphere. I lay down on the sand and, closing my eyes, let the Greek sun envelop me. It was in that moment of peace and tranquility that I understood the true meaning of "Greek calm".
However, Mykonos did not only offer me natural beauty. During my stay, I met wonderful people who shared with me their love for the island and its culture. One of them was a local fisherman named Yannis, who took me to see the most hidden and authentic corners of the island. With Yannis, I discovered small tavernas where I tasted local delicacies such as tzatziki, moussaka and, of course, the fresh fish of the day.
One evening, Yannis invited me to a traditional Greek feast in his village. The celebration was an explosion of music, dance and joy, where locals and visitors joined in a celebration of life and culture. To the rhythm of bouzoukis, we danced sirtaki and zorba under the starry sky, and I felt deeply connected to the festive and hospitable spirit of the Greeks.
Mykonos, with its mix of tradition and modernity, taught me the importance of enjoying the moment and celebrating life. Every sunrise on the island was a reminder of the beauty of the world and the richness of Greek culture. At the end of my trip, as the ferry took me back to Athens, I couldn't help but feel a deep nostalgia for Mykonos and its people.
My love affair with Greece, begun in the historic streets of Athens and consolidated on the golden beaches of Mykonos, is a love that I will always carry in my heart. Greece not only offered me an unforgettable trip, but also a life lesson: the importance of history, the beauty of nature and the warmth of its people. Since then, every time I close my eyes and think of Greece, I can hear the gentle murmur of the Aegean Sea and feel the breeze of Mykonos, reminding me of the magic and romance of one of the most iconic places in the world.

Hace unos años, tuve la oportunidad de visitar una de las ciudades más icónicas del mundo, un lugar donde la historia y la cultura parecen surgir de cada rincón. Grecia, una tierra impregnada de mitos, leyendas y hechos históricos que han marcado el curso de la humanidad. Mi viaje comenzó en Atenas, la cuna de la civilización occidental, pero fue en la isla de Míkonos donde mi romance con Grecia floreció verdaderamente.
Atenas es una ciudad vibrante y caótica, donde la majestuosidad de la Acrópolis se alza como un recordatorio constante del glorioso pasado griego. Caminando por las estrechas calles de Plaka, sentí como si el tiempo se hubiera detenido. Cada piedra, cada rincón, parecía susurrar historias de filósofos, dioses y héroes. Visité el Partenón, un símbolo de perfección arquitectónica que ha resistido la prueba del tiempo, y no pude evitar maravillarme ante la grandeza de los antiguos griegos.
Sin embargo, fue en Míkonos donde descubrí un lado diferente de Grecia, uno más íntimo y personal. Después de unos días explorando Atenas, tomé un ferry hacia las islas Cícladas. Sin embargo, Míkonos no solo me ofreció belleza natural. Durante mi estancia, conocí a personas maravillosas que compartieron conmigo su amor por la isla y su cultura.
