Hi everyone,
In the fall of 2018, I and my girlfriend went on a two-week trip to Malta. Part of our trip was a four-day holiday on the tiny island of Comino between Malta and Gozo.
In fact, until the end we were not sure whether to go to this place or let go of it. There is little information about this island on the Internet, but from the beginning
A boat trip from Malta or Gozo to Comino Island is incredibly picturesque. So be prepared to take many shots of the beautiful caves and sea cliffs during your trip. Comino can be reached in less than 30 minutes from the ports of Cirkewwa in Malta or Mgarr in Gozo. Ships on the island run every half hour, there is also a more expensive option and you can also take advantage of the many ferries on offer.

Comino from boat
Comino is a small island of almost 3km2. The island has one of the most beautiful beaches in Malta - Blue Lagoon. It is here that you can meet the largest number of tourists.
Blue Lagoon
The water there sparkles with a whole range of turquoise and blue shades. It is crystal clear, calm and ideal for swimming, snorkelling and enjoying the day.
Besides, Blue Lagoon offers many other attractions
But we went to another place - Santa Maria Bay, where the camping is located.
In this bay, there are also shops and beaches. The big advantage is that they are not occupied by a large number of tourists and there you can really swim and sunbathe in peace.

And we slept under this small trees 🙂 After putting down the tent we went on a tour. The island is small, so the whole island can be visited in literally one day. There are many interesting places to visit on the island, including quite high cliffs, reaching in some places up to 80 meters.

And monuments:
Santa Marija Tower - one of the fortified stone observation towers built during the time of the Grand Master of the Maltese Knights between 1601 and 1622 on the island of Comino. Each of the towers is within sight of the neighbouring one, and they all served as communication towers between Gozo and the Grand Port, except for the observation and warning function against pirates.

Next to the tower is an abandoned British hospital.
We spent the rest of our days on the beaches, because after all, rest is the most important thing on holiday! :)
Comino as well as the whole Malta is a beautiful country. The crystal clear water of the bay, shimmering in shades of turquoise and blue, is a place worth seeing. Not without reason we have visited this place twice already!
