You know that feeling when you finally get something new like a cute umbrella and the universe just has to give you a reason to use it especially when it is a gift from people you love and people who loves you so dearly.
I remembered what happened when my umbrella was new
so this is the story of my umbrella and me ,there came a day a very special day to me the sky wasn't very bright in fact the clouds were gathering like they had something serious on their mind you could just tell that it was about to poor ,the wind was calm and the air had that rainy sent and everything felt so slow.
now normally anytime I see that is about to rain I'd rush home at the first sign of rain but not then why because I had a new umbrella anpd I wanted to use it so seriously it is a fine umbrella, a fresh one from nylon salesman like a new thing I've been waiting for a perfect chance to use it and the weather was finally giving me the opportunity to use it ,so I told myself "Sylvia no rushing t let it rain let me walk through the rain let me enjoy my umbrella moments so" I stood there smiling waiting for the first drop like it was a special event you wouldn't really believe what happened to me.
So, I decided to wait until the rain actually started. Everyone else was rushing home people were running like the rain was chasing them. But not me. I stayed put, standing there with purpose. A few of my friends were still around too, mostly because their houses were nearby. We just hung around, waiting and I was secretly hyped. My moment was coming.
My decision felt so bold,I stood my ground .There I was clutching my brand-new umbrella like it was a magical staff.

And I wasn’t alone either. A few of my friends stayed behind with me. Their houses were close by, so they weren’t in a rush. We stood there under the grey sky, exchanging jokes, laughing at people,
I felt prepared I wasn't running away from the rain ,I was welcoming it.
Soon, people around started noticing me just standing there, not going. They began telling me, go home oo before the rain traps you, Some were genuinely concerned. Others were just confused,She’ll run when the clouds get serious.’the said to there selves
But they didn’t know the truth,they didn’t understand why I stayed.
At a point, the atmosphere changed, the breeze that had been soft and playful turned into something else entirely, the wind started blowing seriously, not your regular, gentle type oh. This one had power.
It came from nowhere,. It wasn’t just shaking trees, Plastic bags were flying, leaves were dancing angrily,
After that I was still waiting for rain to honour my effort but guess what IT NEVER CAME
Instead, the clouds that once looked heavy and ready to burst suddenly started to lighten up,it looks like the rain changed it mind at the last moment.
But after everything the wind, people shouting at me to go home rain said, not today.
So I packed up my umbrella, untouched and still new, and walked home. Late. Just me and my stubborn pride walking back in dry disappointment.
