I went to London Euston Nando's to collect a takeaway order that I paid for online. I arrived and went to the till to confirm the order. The lady said that she had sent it to the kitchen, but that they were very busy, so could take a while. However, she did pack the desert for me at that time and give it to me in a takeaway box.
I was waiting for a long time a noticed in particular one of the waitresses was particularly stressed. She then burst out in tears and stormed out of Nando's. Five minutes later she returned to shout at the manager, then walked out again. Ten minutes later she returned to shout at the manager, then the manager took her to the back.
Fifty minutes had passed and I was still waiting. I then caught the attention of one Nando's worker and said to him "man, I've been waiting one hour."
He seemed shocked and asked what I had ordered. I told him quarter chicken extra hot, chips and spicy rice. He then went to the kitchen area, then returned saying they had not received the order.
Then he went back to the kitchen and told the guy to quickly make quarter chicken extra hot with chips and spicy rice. Five minutes later he came back to me with the takeaway bag and started apologising.
He told me "you're a very nice man, most people would have been shouting and swearing; please let me offer you something else."
He offered a starter but I said I didn't need it, then he offered dessert but I told him I bought one already. Then he said "at least have a drink." I said OK then he asked if I needed a soft drink or beer. Reluctantly, I chose beer then he came back with a bottle of Mozambican beer.
I then took everything back to my hotel, but on my way noticed that the Nando's lady that had stormed out was standing at the back of Nando's crying and shouting at another Nando's employee.!
Upon reaching my hotel room I opened the bag to eat the quarter chicken with chips and spicy rice. I opened the first box and it contained the chicken. I opened the second box and it contained coleslaw. I opened the third box and it contained coleslaw.
By this stage I had given up, so I just drank the beer and continued with revision.
