As I have mentioned in my last post about my hairwashing routine, I don’t use shampoo. I usually use baking soda and rinse with water and lemon juice but today I had different plans.
After 5 days of not washing my hair, it was extremely greasy. But the tips of my hair were dry and just wouldn’t stay where I wanted them to be.
So I decided to use healing clay. I am not new to this. I used it about 2 years ago and I can’t actually remember why I stopped using it.
So today I started by washing my hair with water. I prepared the clay earlier. I mixed some healing clay with hot water until it had the consistency I wanted it to have. Some people prefer a very creamy consistency but I like it better when it is more liquid.
So I dipped my fingers into the clay-water-mixture and started to massage it into my hair and my scalp. I could instantly feel that the structure of the hair changed. It felt softer. Also I like the smell of the clay, but that’s a personal thing. After I had the whole bowle of mud well massaged into my hair I let it sit for a while (about 15 minutes).
When I washed my hair after that period of waiting, my hair felt so soft and silky as if I had used conditioner. I washed my hair until the water rinsing down was clear to make sure there was no more mud in.
At the end I put some lemon juice onto my hand and rubbed into the hair and left it in.
The result is amazing.
My hair looks great. It feels wonderful. It smells good.
I am excited to see how long the nice look of the hair will last and when it will start to be greasy again. I am planning on staying with the healing clay.
Have you ever tried to wash your hair with clay? Any experiences?
Or anything else you can recommend me to try?
