We have LOVED this week on the blockchain, absolutely LOVING the quality posts that have come out under the #naturalmedicine tag and feel all the warm and fuzzies for you all.
This week saw:
- The launch of our fortnightly competition asking the Steemiverse to write about a time where a natural remedy had made an impact on their life (reminder post coming up, still plenty of time to join in)
- @eftnow delegate to NaturalMedicine, and come up with some great ideas for Holistic Practictioners (see his post here). There's now a channel for that on Discord called 'Natural Meet Ups' so if you are a natural practictioner wanting to chinwag, that's the place for you.
- The launch of Natural Medicine 'Unearthed', featuring half of @mountainjewel on the cover image (if you missed that, you really missed it!)
- and lots of amazing folk joining our Discord which resulted in more channels being made for chats - even one on books!
We've got more in store for you over the coming weeks, so continue to join in the party and help this little seed of an idea grow into an abundant garden that benefits us all.
One debate we had this week amongst members was about what legitimizes a natural medicine. Is it scientific research? Anecdotes? Personal experience? Having a degree? One conclusion we came to is that no one form of knowledge trumps the other. We're super reluctant to say that hard data in a lab is the only way of thinking about natural medicines, as we know that for many, many hundreds (if not thousands) of years, people have been using natural medicines without this theory of knowledge to validate their claims. We also know that it's important to research what's right for you and your body.
We also expanded the archives in the Natural Medicine Discord to include sound healing, natural birthing and astrology, amongst many other modes of healing that we enjoy, rely upon and celebrate in our lives. If there's anything you think we're missing, pop over and let us know, either in the public chat room or contacting @holisticmom, @riverflows or @mountainjewel directly.
Without further ado, here's our top picks for this week (and this is excluding the competition entries!)
The Essentials of Essential Oils: @buckaroo
"Lavender is a favourite flowering herb in many gardens and yet its uses as an essential oil dates as far back as 3000 years, to the time of mummification in Egypt!" @buckaroo writes.
It's to @buckaroo we owe the beautiful bee and lavender picture for this week's curation.
Of lavender, she writes:
Not only that, but she gives us a recipe for baby bum balm!! Is that not the cutest name for an ointment you've ever heard? Go check her post out here

It's Time to Heal: @truck-lifefamily
Sometimes, it doesn't matter what we eat, how many oils we douse ourselves with or how many cups of tea or sessions of yoga we do, it's being out in nature that trumps it all. This post talks about how we need to:

Her post is a beautiful celebration about trusting in nature and trusting in ourselves - and there's a beautiful poem in there too! Check out her post here
@trucklife-family also wrote a GORGEOUS post this week about the sounds we make and how they can heal us - go give it some love here - you truly won't be disappointed!
5 Things You Need to Know about ayahuasca: @terranova.earth
During ayahuasca, doorways can be opened in your energy body that surround your physical body.
Check out her post here
Natural Smudge Sticks: @kristaluton

Yogi @kristaluton hasn't been on Steemit that long, but boy is she making an impact!! We absolutely loved her homemade smudge sticks - check them out here
My armpits smell like fenugreek, and yours can too: @zipporah
By far the most amusing post this week, @zipporah eschews chemical deodorants (which are awfully bad for you) for eating foods that make your armpits smell fabulous. Her particularly scent of choice is maple syrup and fenugreek. If you'd like to tell us what foods make your armpits smell, please feel free to leave a comment below. If anyone would like to ask me what my husband's armpits smell like, please message me in Discord.

3 Amazing Uses of Horsetail @sagescrub
Did you know that horsetail is one of the oldest plants on the planet? And is banned here in Australia as it's a weed? This post, with it's beautiful photos, tells us exactly what her and her husband use this plant for when they collect it in their native state of Oregon.

@walkerland's medicinal pudding
@wildlocusthoney who delegated a little sprinkle of SP to the NM account, which helps us give bigger upvotes to YOU (if you'd like to delegate, please let us know - we really would be super grateful!)
@porters who has written some fabulous posts under the natural medicine tag this week
@startreat and her natural birth series
@walkerland and her gorgeous coconut spiced rice pudding, a response to the medicinal-cooking challenge
@eco-alex for running the medicinal-cooking challenge - go check out this tag for some amazing recipes!
@mrgreen for his great post here about planting medicinal trees.

@eftnow for delegating to the NM account, and his ideas about uniting holistic practitioners here.
@vladivostock for his generous delegation, which combined with @eftnow, makes our vote just that bit stronger so we can support all you fabulous folk.
We'd also like to extend loving thoughts to those facing challenges this week. We love you all and are already feeling the loving support that this Steemcommunity provides - the best natural medicine for us all.
Keep using the #naturalmedicine tag so we can find you easily - our upvotes are coming your way! Again, if you'd like to delegate, this would really help with this. Any amount would be super appreciated.
Lots of love from the NM Team!
If you missed our introduction post you can find it here and the Discord invite is here!
