So what can I say about my first backpacking adventure... um it was an experience! To give you a little more background, I had never gone backpacking and had no idea what to expect.
Things I learned on the trip:
- NEVER go backpacking without proper backpacks
- NEVER try to bring a car camping tent back packing
- NEVER bring a gallon Brita Water filter, as it takes up too much space in your backpack
- NEVER go hiking with a veteran that is 6 ft 2... as they are very in shape and you will not be able to keep up
- Pack light, and wear the same clothes everyday
- Need to train for 14 mile hikes up a mountain
From the list I made above, it's pretty clear I had no idea what I was doing. Thank goodness backpacking to our campsite was less than 5 miles. All in all, this was such a cool adventure and I sure got a big workout having to hike over 14 miles a day! In the future, I'll probably stick to glamping!
As much as I was in pain from this trip, I still had so much fun. Here is a fun video of highlights I captured from our adventure.

Love,
Karen
