Two NBA stars that have been friends since they were seventeen. Instead of having an unnecessary rivalry they found they had things in common. Similar tough childhoods bringing them to the same point in life, high level elite basketball.
Drafted at number one and number three in the 2003 NBA Draft much of the media wanted and possibly expected a rivalry. They created the opposite.
It is well documented, their friendship. Anybody that follows basketball is aware. Both of their children call the other their "uncle". Uncle LeBron, Uncle Carmelo.
This is a great article that talks more about their friendship.

Wouldn't it be cool to see them play together after two separate successful careers? Careers that have been linked and compared thoroughly for thirteen years. Hall of Fame careers.
Imagine them winning a ring together, at the tail end of their careers. Teaching these younger players how to be great one last time. Wreak havoc on the league one year together. I keep hearing LeBron may leave Cleveland after this season...
That would would make me happy to see. That would be a legendary feel good NBA story.

What do you think? Where will Carmelo go? Where is the best spot?
