We had snow here today after the rampages of Storm Ciara yesterday. It has melted now, leaving puddles wherever there is a slight hollow. The temperature has dropped, it feels very cold out and those puddles will become treacherous patches of ice by the morning. I have salted the path.

Meanwhile, the fashion world swirls on with SS2020 in full swing. For weeks, Rowan Yarns have been tantalising with their Mode Two Collection. Finally, last Friday, it arrived, along with Summer Knit and Summer Crochet Collections.
I spent the weekend browsing and following link after link - "similar patterns you might like ... " - lulled into a daze ... before coming to this morning and starting in the sensible place: what yarn do I have in my stash?

Source At some stage, in one sale or another, I had picked up six skeins of creative linen in Straw - a 50% linen/50% cotton mix. It feels lovely, and is one of those strange grey-browns that always look very classy.
Source Summer top from the Rowan Crochet Collection requiring six skeins of Creative Linen - perfect match. I was thinking about knitting, but this will be a good opportunity to practice my crochet skills.
Source I'd always loved the look of this openwork top in Sonya Philip's outfit. The pattern is Sceles by Anna Maltz - a lace knit tee in linen.
After all that tantalising and yarn decision-making, it transpires that you can't buy the pattern from the Rowan website. No, you have to find a supplier that stocks it. I found one online at John Lewis. They say they can deliver by Friday, which is good, because I am going away on Sunday and this is my holiday project.
