We can't say this action hasn't been supported by many influencers. Ned himself wrote about this, making sure users know he supports this action (although he tends to gather a lot of counter-reactions too, which is a downside for anything he supports).
This went even further, and some big accounts announced hefty upvotes for those who included proof-of-vote. Other big accounts didn't announce it but upvoted anyway those who provided these proofs.
This is the final day, so we can still win this contest. But it would require a major mobilization of everyone active on this platform, something I haven't seen so far, although it may seem like it if you check your feed and comments from the previous days.
Otherwise it's inexplicable to me how, after 6 days of voting every 24 hours, we only have 7,818 votes at the time of writing these words.
Sure, we can say many users didn't find about this voting until later, when the real campaign started by top influencers on Steem. That includes me, who only found out about it three days ago.
But even then, we should be able to gather 7,000 votes in a single day easily.
Otherwise, where is the so much highly regarded community we have here on Steem?
Some will say this vote is not important to Steem. What is Netcoins? Just another exchange, right? And we already have STEEM on the exchanges that matter the most (arguably)...
WRONG!!!
Steem is a social-media blockchain. Which means we should be able to win easily any contest where the size of the active community matters, especially since we are not talking about competing with bitcoin or Facebook (I know there's no connection, only making a point about size).
This is a test for the community, supported from the top level and by many influencers on Steem. It is a minor task for any user individually, requiring minimal daily involvement, that can be done in less than a minute.
If this cannot be completed successfully, how can we expect to take head on tougher challenges?
We are currently second to Verge. To put it in Ned's words, "if you love Steem", we need to win this contest! The clearer, the better. Otherwise we should use the word community with less emphasis in the future.
This is where you vote:
http://contest.gonetcoins.com/
If this is your first vote, scroll down until you find Steem and click the Vote button. Enter an email address (can be temporary or old), click the button to receive the confirmation letter. Confirm your email address from the received email. That's it! I think you won't be able to vote again in 24 hours, because it will be over by then.
