BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:00 A.M.) - The Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) has suffered heavy losses over the last 48 hours in southeast Deir Ezzor, as the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue to seize new areas inside the terrorist group's stronghold.
Backed by U.S. Coalition airstrikes, the Syrian Democratic Forces were able to secure at least of Hajin, yesterday, after a series of intense clashes with the Daesh terrorists in the northern half of the town.
With their large-scale advance in Hajin on Wednesday, the Syrian Democratic Forces were able to secure the town hospital and mosque, while also forcing the Daesh terrorists to fall back to the southern districts.
The Syrian Democratic Forces also killed a large number of Daesh fighters, including several foreign combatants that were holed-up inside Hajin.
Daesh has resorted to using several suicide bombers as of recent; this tactic is often used by the terrorist group when they find themselves on the verge of losing territory.
The terrorist group has used similar tactics in past battles; however, they eventually lose their territory after their VBIED attacks are repeatedly foiled.
