"Give me money because how true God I make up things but so unworthy that they really kill you. I make up any as well that you raped me," is just one of the many messages the 15-year-old Palermo girl had sent to her father who died by suicide in March last year and for which she is now under investigation with her boyfriend for extortion and incitement to suicide.
The messages between the father and his minor daughter were reconstructed in the pre-trial detention order signed by the Gip of the Juvenile Court of Palermo and give a glimpse of a conflictual situation that for investigators had turned into a real extortion demand against the 48-year-old widower. "The overall tenor of the requests, which constantly maintained a character of pressing demands and strong prevarication, also frequently took on a frankly threatening tone," the judge wrote.
Charged against the 15-year-old girl and her slightly older boyfriend were a series of WhatsApp messages with constant demands for money ranging from a few tens of euros to thousands of euros that had reduced the man to the brink. Demands always peppered with threats of both false accusations and physical violence. The girl threatened to have social services intervene, to send him to jail on false accusations of violence, but she also physically threatened her father by spending the name of her boyfriend and his family, who had contacts with the world of organized crime.
Money that, according to investigators, was used to buy such futile things as a PlayStation or the minor's false eyelashes but also to support her boyfriend's gambling and his father's prison expenses. Demands that had reduced the man to penury. Despite trying to explain in messages that she had nothing left even in the fridge or to buy medicine, the girl never stopped asking for money. "Pa with you manners are useless, just send me 50 euros," "I swear I will not give you peace," "It's not that you are treated like a monster, you are treated as you deserve" are some of the messages on file.
According to the Palermo Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, it all came about after the death of her mother and the arrival of another woman in the house. The 15-year-old girl had strayed by going to her boyfriend's house and continually demanding money. Even in the last communication she writes "you want war again. All that happened true was not enough for you. The broken car. You in the hospital. You want to get real to more serious things and you want to leave real from Italy to sleep under a bridge. "The next day the man will be found hanged in his home by his son.
The 43-year-old also left two letters in which he wrote, "You extorted me not only your money but also your brothers' money, you are a good manipulator you and your boyfriend, you destroyed me in all ways. I would like to forgive you but I can't, I don't feel anger but contempt, the same contempt you have for me thank you for destroying me I hope God has mercy on all of us."
