Ganguly's name is 311 one-day matches with 190 sixes while Rohit has 194 sixes in 189 matches. He has reached number 8 in the world in terms of the number of sixes in one-day internationals. In India, only Sachin Tendulkar (195) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (217) are ahead of him.
This is the fourth time when Rohit Sharma scored eight or more sixes in one ODI. Only Chris Gayle of West Indies has been able to do this more than Rohit Sharma. Other Indian batsmen, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yusuf Pathan have done this once in a row. This was the 20th ODI century of Indian opener. He has played 183 innings to reach 20 ODIs and is at number four in the world in terms of fastest reach to this point.
