One of the things Manchester United is known for is spending good money when it comes to the wages of their players which is why they have been paying Henrik Mkhitaryan up to the tune of £200,000 per week.
To show how keen Arsene Wenger is in securing the services of the Armenia international in the swap deal that saw Alexis Sanchez moving in the opposite direction, the Gunners’ boss is willing to top up Mkhitaryan’s weekly wages.
Mkhitaryan, who has endured one of the toughest seasons in his career at Old Trafford, is assured of securing a constant and active position in the first team at the completion of his transfer this January. The remainder of his deal with Manchester United has also been finalized as he will be paid off in full.

When Wenger was asked whether paying the wages of the inbound Manchester United midfielder would be a tough obstacle to surmount he refuted that claim, saying that it would not be a problem at all.
Mkhitaryan has expressed his delight in moving over to the Emirates in this dramatic move and has always been motivated by how the Arsenal team play coordinated games all the time. When he spoke at his unveiling, Mkhitaryan also indicated that he is more than ready to compete for silverware with the Premier League club.
The current highest paid Arsenal player is Alexandre Lacazette, but there are indications that this could change when Mkhitaryan finalizes his move to the Gunners.
In a related development, there are speculations that German player, Mesut Ozil, is set to demand an increase in his wages to match Mkhitaryan. The contract of the Gunners midfield talisman, according to reports, is due to expire at the end of this season.
The future of the 29-year-old at the Emirates is not guaranteed at the moment and would be free to negotiate a move away from Arsenal. Manchester United and several other clubs are currently eyeing the German international, and World Cup winner for a likely January swoop.

But with Alexis Sanchez transfer to Manchester United all is all but completed, the Gunners are looking to renew talks with Ozil and get him to commit his future to the Premier League club. Sanchez has gone ahead to sign a four-and-a-half-year deal at Manchester United.
But presently, the exact details of what Henrik Mkhitaryan has agreed with the Gunners are still unclear. The 29-year-old Armenian started the 2017/2018 campaign with a lightning opening as he quickly registered five assists in his first three Premier League football games. But afterwards, the midfielder began struggling for additional game-time under Mourinho in the following months.
Inter Milan as well as his former club, Borussia Dortmund have expressed their keen interest in the midfielder. But Mkhitaryan had to spend about 48 hours deliberating over a transfer to the Emirates. Since the Armenian’s desire was for Arsenal to match the wages, he collects at Old Trafford, and Wenger has agreed to it and even promised to top it up, signing up with the Gunners was no longer avoidable.
