Bangladesh has not changed its mind about disagreeing to accept more than sixty recommendations, including the question of additional voluntary commitments of some human rights activists, including international charter for protection of all. The permanent representative of Bangladesh in Geneva, Ambassador Shamim Ahsan has said that these are not in conformity with the existing laws and social values in Bangladesh, or they do not have the capability or ability to implement those commitments right now.
He said these while finalizing the recommendations of the UN Human Rights Commission, which is known as the UPR, the third round review meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Commission. The review meeting was held in Geneva on Monday on human rights situation in Bangladesh and recommendations were finalized on Thursday afternoon on Thursday.
Among the recommendations of the current UPR, Bangladesh has agreed to 167, 24 more time has taken time for the examination and disagreed on sixty. Though many in the number of recommendations, many reactions are considered subject and action. Ambassador Ahsan said that the recommendations they can not accept now are subject to them as four to five.
