An Indonesian police plane carrying 13 people went missing on Saturday on a short domestic flight, between Pangkal Pinang, Bangka Belitung province, to Batam in the Riau Islands, and is feared crashed.
Fishermen found wreckage of the Polish-made M-28 Skytruck off Pulau Senayang, in Riau Islands province, at 11.30am (12.30pm Singapore time) yesterday.
The aircraft departed Pankal Pinang at 10.24am Singapore time and was expected to arrive in Batam at 11.58am. Its last known radar position was about 40 nautical miles southeast of Tanjung Pinang.
The M28 Skytruck plane lost contact with air traffic control during what was supposed to be a 1.5 hour flight in western Indonesia.
