Youtube said its removals of right wing video channels were a mistake. They blamed the error on inexperienced moderators. They said
"As we work to hire rapidly and ramp up our policy enforcement teams throughout 2018, newer members may misapply some of our policies resulting in mistaken removals. We're continuing to enforce our existing policies regarding harmful and dangerous content, they have not changed. We'll reinstate any videos that were removed in error".
Last December Google CEO issued a public statement pledging the commission of a 10,000 person team of moderators to crack down on rising hate speech. This recent shut down seems to be in line with what was pledged in that statement.
Several conservative personalities voiced their opinions on twitter. A few of these tweets below.

Does @YouTube understand about half the country is conservative? It's rather easy to find them for your team of screeners.

YouTube's New Moderators “Mistakenly” Pull Right-Wing Channels
Weird how no one on the Left ever runs into these “mistakes”https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-02-28/youtube-s-new-moderators-mistakenly-pull-right-wing-channels …

@MarkDice
It was just a little 'mistake' guys. No censorship of conservatives on YouTube at all. (Say that and you might get a strike). Everything is fine. 😆 https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-02-28/youtube-s-new-moderators-mistakenly-pull-right-wing-channels …
