To scan your file, copy the link directly to the file you want to download. After copying the link, open a new tab on the web browser. Type virustotal.com in the browser. Google's online tool is to check virustotal virus. Three options will appear in the same time as the homepage opens, which includes File, URL and Search. If you want to scan one of your files, click on File option and if you want to check a link online, click on the Search option. From this, click on the URL option.
After clicking, you will see a search bar that says 'Search or scan a URL'. Paste the link copied in this search bar and press Enter. If there are no warriors, a 'No engines detected this URL' message will come. This means that there is no virus in your link and you can download the file.
