Railway travelers can now keep an eye on the refund status of canceled tickets. For this, they have to fill in a 'login' on a website, which has been started by the Railway Ministry recently. In order to show the refund status, the website 'Refund.indianrel.Gov.In' will require only PNR (Passenger Name Record) number of passengers. Director of the Railway Board (Pradhan), Ved Prakash said that the purpose of this facility is to bring transparency in the system and it will be very helpful for those waiting for the refund.
This website will show the refund status for tickets and online tickets purchased from the counter. Website Center for Railway Information System (CRIS) has created.
This system will especially help those travelers who have to compel the claim through ticket submission to Ticket Deposit (TDR) because they can not know the refund status of their tickets. So far, the passengers who booked their tickets through the IRCTC website were sent emails and messages about their further processing and refund status on their canceled tickets.
Railway tickets can be canceled through all ticket counters, IRCTC website and railway inquiry number 139. It is noteworthy that in case of TDR, the amount of refund on the cancellation of the online ticket reaches the passenger's bank account in five days. While refund of ticket on counter, refund is available in seven days.
