A 32 year old man from Calgary Alberta is recovering from injuries to his face and head after a bear mauled him in a remote hiking area just east of Banff National Park in Alberta.
He had to hike several miles after the incident to get himself back to safety and see medical attention.
Police in the area said "We are not sure what the man was doing in the area as he was alone, and did not appear to be camping."
