With (101.2) stats through his first three NFL seasons, Ezekiel Elliott has renewed his contract with the Dallas Cowboy in a deal that has made him the highest paid RB in the NFL.
The 24-year-old who had two years remaining on his deal after the Cowboys picked up his fifth-year option earlier this offseason, has agreed to a reported six-year, $90 million contract extension on Wednesday, with a full contract worth $103 million over eight years.
This contract renewal puts an end to the holdout between him and the cowboys over contract his plan to force a renewal.
Elliot who is the No. 4 pick in the 2016 draft, is been hailed as the NFL's best running back and is one of the most productive RB in league history.
With a stat of (101.2) he is just behind Jim Brown who is at (104.3) and has averaged more rushing yards per game. He is one of 13 players in NFL history to rush for 4,000 yards in his first three seasons, doing so in fewer carries than anyone on the list.
In 2018, he caught 77 passes for 567 yards and three touchdowns and was named to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams for the second time in his career.
My thoughts.
He is a young man with an amazing stat and is doing really well. Extending his contract with Dallas Cowboys is a good deal after the contract extension debacle that happened back in July where Jerry Jones stated that "he (Elliot) was late."
He will be able to keep his place in the team and keep scoring more touchdowns and catching many more passes.
There are some really impressive newcomers in the NFL this season and I am watching closely and really enjoying the games.
I watched a brief clip of him training today after renewing his contract and he looks really fit and ready for the new adventure.
