I was born about two decades ago in a country where the Niger river divides into two parts. I was born in a hospital where kerosine lamp was used instead of electricity. I must have been born in a village, I hear you say. No, I wasn't, I was born in a city but we had no power supply.
The electrical power supply in my country has been an issue right from time. Citizens can tell how many hours we enjoy electrical supply yearly.
We have heard of several electrical reforms by the government trying to increase the megawatt of the power supply but it hasn't proven positive.
UP NEPA!!! is what you hear from both young and old, once there is a power supply. For goodness sake, a few citizens were still about 2 years old when the government changed the electrical body from NEPA to PHCN after which it has been privatized but still there have been no changes in their function and citizens do not even enjoy uninterrupted power supply.
In a year, i can tell you I enjoy electrical power supply for about 79 hours 45 minute and some seconds. Wow!! This guy is a genius.... Not really, I'm just used to no power supply, so I can do the mathematics easily. Today, I enjoyed about four hours uninterrupted power supply from about 12 noon to 4:00 pm and I am so happy because I could charge my phone and other gadgets.
I hope soon, we would be celebrating a year of uninterrupted power supply in Nigeria but before then, I am looking for an alternative and I would be glad if I get one.
