I too felt a need to brag about my sexual exploits - when I was an idiot teenager. I remember feeling the need to emotionally abuse women - until I finally forgave my mother in my thirties for not being perfect. Was your mom a drinker, a drug-addict? Did you spend your teen years scrambling to make a name for yourself, playing at some sense of popularity that you might derive legitimacy from it? Have feelings of abandonment driven you to sabotage your potentially healthy relationships? Did isolation breed an insecure megalomania; did egocentrism compel you to torture other people like your ex-wife to feel relevant? Did you grow that ridiculous, faggoty beard to desperately grasp at superficial masculinity because you had no example of a real man to follow? Some part of you is trapped in a dangerously ineffectual form of adolescence. You may or may not grow up - but only after you hit rock bottom. Until then, your artificial life will pale in comparison to a genuine one. I pity you.
