Hi there Steemians.
One of our friends. And yeah he drives a BMW. I wish he would just buy a Subaru and get on with his life but hey we can't all love the same brands and products.
This first photo is the end result. I absolutely had to put it first on the list because it is so attractive. Well to me atleast😁
All we did was add some nice mesh grill into the gaps. It was kinda quick and easy to do.
I geuss the hardest part of the task was to cut and bend the mesh according to size.
But a simple blade cutter did the trick really well to cut it with.
After cutting it on size we melted a little bit of plastic here and there just to keep it in place.
This is also where one should be careful as to make sure no plastic drops on the outside of the bumper that might be visible
After sticking it in place we cut off all the excess plastic and used that to melt it together properly. Luckily plastic bonds nicely. Also another bonus the grill won't really take pressure so chances of it falling off aren't really there at all.
In order to melt the plastic we used some old flat head screwdrivers that are a little bit bent at the flat end.
We then use a gas torch to heat up the screwdrivers.
When using a portapack gas gun try having a friend with you who can constantly heat up screwdrivers otherwise you will be wasting some gas.
