Display cases for my previous works. Made by me in Paint
--Beginning of the 'art'--
I began using MS Paint in 2013 when I jokingly created a 'missing person' milk carton with a photo of my friend, who I knew were busy in real life and hadn't been online in a year and a half, and posted it to a facebook group my friends and I created. It garnered some laughs and when that 'missing' friend did log in he was flabbergasted that I created that image for him. it was a free program on Windows that gave me another outlet to be 'creative' and as the years went by I kept going back to Paint to create silly images, (poorly) recreate video game characters, and generally waste time.
--Why and How--
When I joined Hive I realized I would have to come up with an avatar for my account and create cover art for my posts. Since I had no other tools or programs available at the time I went with ol' reliable. My creative process is simple: I imagine an amazing photo with actual detail and a lot of objects surrounding the focus in my head and I'll draw a rough sketch in a notebook and it looks great... Then I attempt to create it in Paint. It never turns out as planned but it does, (I hope!), emphasize the point I am discussing in the post. Even though it looks silly and it seems stupidly childish, It's also a slight flex, if the image looks great I can say "I made it in Paint!" and if it looks terrible, I can say "Well, It was made in Paint". I am covered on both sides!
--The true reason--
When I have an idea for a post I want every piece of the post to be as original as I can make it. Sure, using Canva or Snappa may look more professional and cut a lot of the rigmarole but I feel like I would lose sight of why I wanted to create the post in the first place.
the thing I like about it all though is that at the end of the day the images shown are things I created, I went through the 'artistic' process and this was the result. I hope this post clarifies 'Why I Create in Paint'.
Thank you and I hope you enjoyed!
