The world is up in arms again over another coronavirus variant. This time it's been called omicron by the WHO, who have skipped over the letter Xi.
On a side note, why do you think they skipped over this Greek letter? Does it resemble Chinese letters or writing too much? Did they want to avoid creating further stigma towards China? I don't really know, but it's interesting how the choose certain letters from the Greek alphabet to represent these variants.
The variant is said to have been first detected in Southern Africa, in Botswana. This alleged new variant could have been circulating prior to its detection, and even elsewhere in the world. But it's being identified as originating from Botswana.
It's also interesting that this comes in light of mounting evidence that the vaccinations are not stopping the virus. The vaccinated can still catch the alleged virus. The vaccinated can still transmit the alleged virus to others. And studies have found, with even Anthony Fauci admitting, that the viral load in a vaccinated person can be no different than the viral load in an unvaccinated person.
And so, entering the world stage is a new variant that many have fear mongering over. Like this person saying it has a "really awful spike mutation profile":

That says nothing about its lethality, if it's more or less lethal, etc. But it's a good way to sell fear about an alleged danger that they don't even know is more or less of a danger.
And where did this alleged new dangerous variant come from? In whom was it first found? The government of Botswana itself has tweeted about this origin:

Yes, it says that the four people in whom this was detected, had been fully vaccinated. I repeat, they had been fully vaccinated.

This further shows that these alleged effective injections are not actually that effective. What remains to be seen is the alleged infectivity for the unvaccinated, specifically those who have a natural immunity.
As many papers have been published over the past year have shown, natural immunity is actually very effective against all variants, with even one paper saying it's protective against all future variants of concern.
I'm curious to know if the same conclusion will apply to this new variant. Are the unvaccinated naturally immune still better off in fighting the virus?
