Hi All
This is my submission for Steemit openmic Week No 71 - my original song called "Before You Speak"
This song has deep meaning and I was delighted when my publisher said it was his favourite of all my songs. That was a few years ago but I am still moved that it was someone's favourite song.
My feet are firm against the floor
The carpet burns as I close my door
Shutting out the world again
Nothing else really matters now
I hear my own thoughts make the sound
Of my own disbelief
You don’t have to dream it
If you can see
Just gotta believe that
It’s all you need
And think before you speak
Caught in the middle of a safety net
My hands are reaching I can’t feel the end
Be strong now it has just begun
Does it get better do I still go through
All of the things I never thought I’d do
Been waiting for something that’s not there
You don’t have to dream it
If you can see
Just gotta believe that
It’s all you need
And think before you speak
Caught in the middle of a safety net
My hands are reaching I can’t feel the end
Be strong now it has just begun
It's been an exciting journey here on Steemit and even more because of this wonderful competition that is bringing so many artists out into the open and giving opportunity to so many who would otherwise never be heard or seen. Thank you @Luzcypher for hosting this wonderful competition - thanks also to @soundlegion @krystle @verbal-d and @passion-ground for taking the time to judge. Vote for @pfunk for witness
Since songwriting is my passion, I will definitely be joining the next songwriters challenge that comes up. Thanks for inspiring so many musicians on this platform.
Looking forward to uploading my music to the new platform Viewly which should be up and running in the near future and I was thrilled to see myself on a creators video uploaded this morning - vote for @furion for witness
