What is a good man? I always thought that I knew the answer to this. Following a belief conjured to my understanding of what a good man is.
To stow away his own desires to appease the euphoria of others, is that a good man?
To deteriorate whilst his endeavors are benefitted by the ones he loves, is that a good man?
To never protest to his arduous obligations to his loved ones, is that a good man?
To perform all of what is asked and not asked of him to avoid confrontation, is that a good man?
To be driven by an emotion blinding repercussions to ensure that one remains contented, is that a good man?
Fabrications of what a good man is, is just that, fabrications. An idea created to provide guidance down a path of society's choosing.
What is a good man? Possibly it should be, What is Man?
Man, a species of complexities. Man not pertaining to just the male, but both male and female.
Alone, Man is resourceful. Compelled by unmitigated necessity. Food, water, shelter, and security. In other words, survival. A Man has the determination to do what needs to be done to sustain existence.
Including another Man provides a much more productive chance of survivability. That is just two. Quite possibly a family of Man could thrive stunningly. A family of Man, all driven by their perception of organized living.
Introducing two or several more families of Man then create turmoil. A diversity of organized perceptions of necessity colliding creating a spin-off of chaos. This spin-off has strayed Man from the sight of our being. Being, our existence.
Man now lives in societies divided by class, race, belief, hatred, and many others. Man has been divided so many times that Man has forgotten the ambition of being.
Many things in today's society of Man do provide comfort for an easygoing life. Material things like smartphones, computers, cars etc. All invented to make exertion convenient.
Man mustn't deviate too far, Man must always remember the true aspiration of being. Together Man inhabits just one world (as we know of), a world that is deteriorating due to Man wondering off the path of surviving as a single species.
The beginning of an improved world starts when Man can acknowledge in unison that the missing component is humanity. The quality of being human, all human beings collectively, the quality of being humane.
Then and only then Man can provide the true significance. What is a good Man?
