Hello World
My name is Relyea and I just recently quit my full time accounting job to become a full time youtube gaming content creator.
Would be easy if it was just me but I am a husband and father of three awesome kids. There is a lot depending on me to keep the family going. So far we are doing good and I am enjoying the fact that there is FAR less stress now than before.
Don't worry, this was not a decision that was made lightly. We saved money and our income was almost as much as our household expenses right when I quit. We are going to be just fine.
I am also in the Air Force Reserves (means I have a way to get medical) and can always get back into accounting if I ever really wanted/ needed to.
Currently living in San Diego, CA. Living expenses are pretty high so we may end up moving somewhere eventually. Just has to be near a military base that has the same career that I am in now.
What is your story?
I started my youtube channel August 15th 2017 making tutorials on games like Zelda Breath of the Wild and streaming to 4-5 people at a time. We lived in a small apartment so I had to stream from the walk-in closet as there was no other space for me to setup.
I was not growing fast but saw a small increase in views when making Hollow Knight content. Just kept making more Hollow Knight videos to test things out and started to see some real numbers. Became part of the Hollow Knight community and now I have a decent sized channel:

Kept working on the channel almost every night after the kids would go to bed from 8:30pm until about 11pm. I was even making content while I was deployed with the Air Force Reserves after working my 12+ hr days.
It has been growing and here we are.
My setup is a little better and now I can make more content. I am still going hard trying to reply to all the comments and keep that small community feel even as we cross the 125k subscriber mark.
I have been interested in crypto for a while now and started investing back in Oct/ Nov of 2020. Just recently heard of PeadD/ Hive and wanted to check out this community.
Thank you to @traciyork & @lovesniper for suggesting I make a post and welcoming me into the community. I am looking forward to making some fun content over here.
