It seems the Government is finally winning a war. Who would have thought certainly watching the news it seems impossible that wars are never truly won. However this war seems to finally be drawing near an end. This war however was a little easier. You see this war was against people who were suffering from many types of chronic pain conditions. These people were relying on Opiates to control the hideous agony they live with every moment of every day.
These People were Put on these Opiates usually by Specialists Who acted no better that your average corner Drug dealer. This went on for years until attitudes started changing in the medical field. This change of attitude towards treatment is all well and good for the Drs but where does it leave the patient who IS in pain who IS addicted to the medications that were pushed on them by the health professionals. I always thought I was safe in Australia. I was tucked away from all that nonsense I was watching about trying to ban OxyContin. Well it is starting here.
As I write this I am getting ready to fill in a survey that our government has just released on this very subject. It won’t be long before one of my only pain relief treatments is no more. Except Cannabis oil is still Illegal in Australia so that isn’t even an option at the moment.
