The end of the year is almost here, and this is a piece of information I wanted to have access to for some time: how many days since the last time I skipped one with my daily posts?
Since I haven't found such information anywhere, I finally decided to get it myself.
So, after I got my credentials for @HiveSQL yesterday, I started poking around.
As a former programmer (I'm old enough to be used to that term too), it seems I'm very light on installed programming languages these days...
But I installed Azure Data Studio, and it did its job. Now, I don't have extensive expertise with SQL and almost zero with MSSQL, the version of SQL HiveSQL uses.
Luckily, the documentation online makes up for it, so I pulled it off.
I'm pretty happy about it too because it wasn't trivial for someone as rusty as I am.
So, here's what I discovered:
Only a 237 streak of daily posting for me. Not even a full year yet. Disappointing! :) Especially when you'll see what comes next.
So, Task has often been compared to a machine because of his almost legendary consistency. Let's see if the stats confirm that.
On his Leo account we find this:
He hasn't missed a post since April 2021, so getting close to two years straight pretty soon. That shows consistency, but you haven't seen anything yet.
But that's his "small" account. Check out his main account:
No day missed since September 2019. 1213 days since he missed a day. Wow! And he doesn't shitpost either... Otherwise one could argue it is easy to keep such a streak when all you do is through a picture or something automated every day.
He must be the king of daily posting on Hive, right?
Nope. While I don't know who the king or queen is (I'd need a different kind of query for that, and that's more resource intensive), I thought who could "beat" Task at long-term daily posting while not shitposting either.

Incredible! This guy hasn't missed a post since mid-November 2017! 1868 straight days.
Even his younger brother Galen is doing great in this regard:
As someone who started to understand it's not easy keeping a long streak of posting, I want to congratulate anyone who has been posting daily for anything longer than 100 days. And the relatively few who are above 1000, you guys and gals are legends!
