So I'm coming out on Hive as the Pagan that I am. I've been discriminated against in the past, so I wanted to keep my real identity secret. I decided to just say screw it. So this account is owned by @the-bitcoin-dood #paganandproud
What Happened?
For the few people that followed this account, I had learning-tarot.com on a really cheap server. I had changed my credit card info and had everything set on autopay. When I canceled that credit card, there was no way to bill the account. On top of that, I hadn't checked the email for that account, and never received the billing invoices.
The hosting company rightfully so deleted my account for non-payment. This wasn't really a big deal to me until I discovered my blog content was gone. I was using a WordPress blog, and when they deleted the account they also deleted the blog database thus losing all the content. It would have been nice if they would have held that data for 60 to 90 days. Losing that data, was a bit of a bummer, to put it mildly.
When I discovered all my posts had been deleted, I just lost motivation. There was a lot of content there, and losing it was pretty heartbreaking.
Why I've Returned
I always enjoyed this project. The project was always meant to be a fun side project. I was cleaning up my web templates after working on a client's site and came across this project. I almost deleted it, then decided to mess around with it a little more.
On top of that, I discovered the Instagram account for this project had acquired over 2K followers. That's a lot of people that I could be referring to Hive, and possibly generate some advertising off of the website if I decide to go that route down the road. For now, I just want to post and have some fun with this.
The other thing I missed is doing my own personal daily readings. I miss waking up each morning and doing a reading or a card pull. It was a great way to stay focused on my spiritual pursuits and also keep my tarot interpretations fresh. You know what they say, if you don't use it, you lose it.
I also began to study rune stones, so I'll be incorporating that into the blog posts along with pagan and occult writings on all things magick.
I'm Back
I'm going to give this project another year. It's been down for about 2 years now. I'll try and work and post to this blog daily. I'm also working on a way to insert my Hive posts directly into my website with links back to Hive. It could be a really great way to get some Hive referrals.
