Today is a day where the British join to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts. Every year Remembrance Sunday is held at 11am on the second Sunday in November and is characterised by the poppy. This symbol is owing to the fields of poppies seen during World War 1 and by the poem 'In Flanders Fields'.
Year on year people complain of the erosion of this day of rememberance citing all kinds of reasons, but i'm not going into that, but the world does not need anymore conflict. The remembrance is strong here in the UK and world wide as we stop at 11am to remember those who have given their lives for their country her and abroad, not just Great Britain. We are proud, we are thoughtful and we will remember. #LestWeForget
