Hey everyone.
Wow, day 434u9something of quarantine. It's been pretty okay here. I am very excited to report that the lattice arrived as you can see. Now I just need to figure out how to affix it at the top. It'll be anchored at the bottom with the planter. I'm thinking some outdoor velcro tape would be the least destructive thing I could do to this concrete wall lol. I watched them rebuild it this summer and it would be a shame to mess with their work.
Here are the strawberries and the lavender I started. I mixed them up unfortunately so we'll have to see who is who in a few weeks. _;;; I started up some little snap peas today as well though I forgot to photograph. The morning glory seeds are here but I think I will direct sow them once the planter is here. The seeds have a little note about not disturbing the seedling roots too much when transplanting so I think I'll just skip that step. We honestly have about another month before things will get put directly in the ground here.
I'm happy with the steady progress, especially because it can be hit or miss ordering things online right now. We're still in a state of emergency so I really only go out for groceries once a week.
Other than gardening, I'm doing okay. A little subdued and sad, for obvious reasons but in general alright. I still have homework I need to finish and our next term starts in a little over a week. I am very excited for classes to start though. I picked some easy-going ones to fulfill some academic requirements. Mostly art history and classical greek studies. I really enjoy art history courses and I did particularly well with the greek chapters. More courses are being posted for the second part of the summer semester that starts June 1st so I might take a language too. We'll see.
We made some fresh mint tea today and I am so looking forward to sipping it on the balcony when it's a bit warmer out.
To end on a positive note, allow me to share with you the adorable sport of marble racing. Cheers.
