Seven decades to cast over 600 roles as antagonist, gay figure, aspirant and charming figure in television and big screen, Eduardo Verchez Garcia will be remembered for long time career in Philippine entertainment scene. He passed away last June 20 at age 90 in Makati Medical Center due to neck and cervical fracture he suffered after a tripping accident during his shooting of upcoming television series Rosang Agimat in GMA-7. He left with three children.
Eddie "Manoy" Garcia was born in Sorsogon, Sorsogon on May 2, 1929 but spend his life in Juban. He served in Philippine Scouts after World War II and stationed in Okinawa, Japan as military policeman before starting his showbiz career.
He is the only person inducted in FAMAS Hall of Fame categories: Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Director. He is the most appeared actor in Philippine small and big screens.
