welcome to weekly status report 22/2017 for Steem-exclusive PermaCryptoFolio experiment.

Due to a short holiday I was not able to write a report last Friday. Last Monday we replaced coins in FLIPPER-portolio, and today another replacement was triggered, because Stratis STRAT climbed to rank #8. In this case Stratis STRAT is added to NEMO and FLIPPER portfolio and replaces the weakest coin inside these portfolios (ByteCoin BCN in FLIPPER and Golem GNT in NEMO).

The NEMO Portfolio

The FLIPPER Portfolio

I moved the complete stake of BCN into ARIELLE portfolio, and transfered the same BTC-amount of Stratis STRAT into FLIPPER portfolio. The state of FLIPPER portfolio after the replacement. Note that I have not updated the prices of all other coins. (Screenshot above is based on UTC-EOD prices from Poloniex, the price of Stratis STRAT in the screenshot below is taken from the timestamp of the swap from ARIELLE to FLIPPER).

The ARIELLE Portfolio

The state of the ARIELLE portfolio before todays rebalancing:

ARIELLE covers all altcoins on the ranks 10 till 25, if they are tradeable on Bittrex or Poloniex exchange. That's why BAT and BCCare disregarded. Calculation of the number of Token to buy or sell during rebalancing. Note that there is an error in the calculation of target units for Lisk.

See below the current state of the ARIELLE Portfolio after todays rebalancing. The DigixDAO DGD market was not open on Bittrex, so the buy of the 0.87 DGD was not possible. Instead we have a little BTC position now.

Some thoughts on the Experiment

In the past few weeks, I have been thinking often about a change in the portfolio structures.

Due to the outperformance of ARIELLE compared to FLIPPER, ARIELLE is currently investing approximately 1.2 BTC in each of the coins on ranks 10 to 13, while FLIPPER only invests about 0.8 BTC in every coin on ranks 2-9. Before todays replacement of BCN by STRAT the STRAT stake in ARIELLE was worth around 2 BTC, while the BCN stake in FLIPPER was only worth 0.8 BTC. My idea is to integrate ARIELLE completely into FLIPPER, in order to avoid such misalignment.
I run the PermaCryptoFolio experiment now for 9 months, and the performance of NEMO and FLIPPER is nearly the same, although they partly invest in different coins and are balanced at different times.
During this 9 months also the BTC-Dominance crashed from over 90% down to 45%. @freiheit50 asked me, how I will react with PermaCryptoFolio if there happens a fork in Bitcoin which results in 2 Coins (Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin Unlimited).

My Idea is a completly new FLIPPER portfolio, holding as today 1/3 in "Cash", and the other 2/3 invested into the Top25 coins. That means I plan to skip the 1/3 holding of BTC, instead BTC becomes a normal coin in the portfolio as any other coin. From ARIELLE I want to integrate the weekly rebalancing and the concept of investing more money into a coin as higher the coin is ranked in coinmarketcap.com.

For a better performance comparability, DORY and NEMO portfolio will remain in their current structure.

And I'm not sure in the moment if I continue to run ARIELLE as standalone portfolio. Either I reduce it to fit the NEMO portfolio or I stop it entirely.
