More useful than a weed plant? That's not what that hippie in the van by the bar told me...
Betcha can't guess what some of the seeds are that we're getting in the mail this weekend... No, not weed seeds you goofball. Nettles! I think I'll plant them as ground cover on all the paths and around anything fun... That'll teach the kids to do anything outside. ;)
Really though, I'm excited about them. They'll be a regular part I my diet as soon as they're up and established. As a side note, I'm expecting to be able to eat (excluding meat) purely out of the garden this summer. That'll save a lot on the family food budget and our resolution of being debt free by the end of the year.
While the card only hints at the medicinal uses, a quick bit of expert googling action tells me that the medicinal benefits can range from relief of UTIs to enlarged prostate and eczema, among many others. (Source)
