For me there is. It depends on us really. We guys are bombarded with a lot of temptations not only with the opposite sex but with the material things as well. We guys are also so inclined with the fulfillment of our personal dreams disregarding the interests and benefits of our spouses. Those are just some of the things that hinder the building of lasting relationships.
If we can just master the art of self-control, we can get away with whatever things that may damage lasting relationships. The big question is on how are we going to do it. It is so awkward to say that you have to fear your spouse. In the bible…God said that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom”. Is it also true that the fear of your spouse is the beginning of lasting relationship? The answer maybe is not really fear of the spouse…but the fear of losing your spouse. If you love your spouse that much you will fear of losing him/her.
Next is to nurture the kind of relationship you have with your spouse. Show to him/her that you care. As the saying goes that you needed to water the plants so that it will bloom and grow, you needed to nurture the relationship so that it will last forever.
I know that it would be very difficult but it is doable.
