Ok that conversation never happened but I’m sure Jazz was thinking it while we were talking about how the art was going to look like for the game. The original plan was creating the game using my art style. It was simple to replicate and had it’s own flare.
The Initial Proposal
A total break from my usual art pieces posted but I got excited with the thought of creating a game that I went overboard with the detail. I wanted the game to look detailed but at the same time my real life obligations may prevent me from investing enough time to cover every visual in the detail of the game. The art needs to be simple enough to conceptualize, produce, make editions, and revisions if necessary.
Reality
This can’t be a two man show. We needed more people on board and people that shared the same level of passion as we do. This project is on a long term with no definite deadline in mind. What fuels us to keep going is the dream to create a game.
Jazz wanted to create a game but didn’t have the skills to render art for it. And I had what he wanted and lacked what he had. We both had the same want and it was easy coordinating what we wanted to happen. But we were also preoccupied with personal lives and work needs to be efficiently distributed to make something happen at least in the short term.
That’s how we decided to recruit more members. @kothy and @tpkidkai were the first persons in mind. @jamesanity06 and @memeitbaby became a later prospective addition for the team.
Kothy had talent and was better at digitally coloring my sketches. I still suck coloring my own art that’s why my style is prominently black and white.
Adjustments
In the beginning, I had my doubts on whether kothy would be able to meet with expectations. My art was simple enough to copy and we gave her artistic freedom to interpret it and maybe add her own style to it.
Stumpy was the first output she made that gave as a confirmation she was our artist for the job. We weren’t looking for professionals and be intimidated by their experience. We were just looking for amateurs like us who shared the same passion.
We also foreseen a need for promotions of our work and some writers to build the lore of our game’s universe. That where @tpkidkai came in and so as the rest of our new members.
There will be more adjustments to come as we progress with our project. I hope you do follow @takipsilim and support us in the long run.
